born in charlotte, nc and one of 5 siblings, king dikorim was borne from a necessity to escape the complexities of intersectional life in the south. in many ways much of what king dikorim creates is meant to help others embrace the pride that is being a multifaceted person. in this moment of rising fascism it is important to be clear, concise, and forceful against this threat. it is equally important to embrace each other and community as much as we can. it is difficult to attempt to utilize the capitalist structure to escape its toxicity and yet here we all are. king dikorim wishes ultimately to dismantle and end all the systems of white supremacy and in doing so free humanity from the shackles of consumption, prejudice, and inhumanity. the art work is multifaceted (even though there are basic consumables in the shop) typically incorporating installation, sound, photography, painting, found objects, appropriation, fabric, drawing, and usually always some form of text. humanism must not be co-opted. join king dikorim in the fight to protect all otherised peoples.
